From the $2,200 office chair to the $329,000 City Hall makeover and those exorbitant Martha’s Vineyard trips, the Bibb administration has completely lost its way. But this isn’t just tabloid gossip, it’s a symptom of a deeper problem. Our city deserves better than losing $3.3 million in lead remediation grants and shutting down over 20 schools because the unelected CMSD school board and an incompetent CEO can’t get their act together. It’s also about the failed budget that was supposed to support our police, EMS, and fire departments but clearly fell short. Add to that the hiring of a former roommate with a racist background and the closed-door culture at City Hall! This is why many Clevelanders feel like the accountability we were promised has been replaced by expensive drapes and a shocking lack of transparency.
2026 Cleveland City Council Budget Hearings
Each year, the Mayor and the City Council of the City of Cleveland are required to develop and approve the following year's budget.
The Mayor must submit his draft budget to the Cleveland City Council by February 1 each year. On the Tuesday after Presidents' Day, City Council begins a series of hearings where it can review, refine, and revise the budget. City Council must approve the annual budget by April 1.
